Pilates Matwork
Pilates Matwork is the foundation of Joseph Pilates’ original method. Using your own body weight and precise movement patterns, mat training develops strength, mobility, coordination, and body awareness.
Because it requires minimal equipment, Pilates Mat focuses on the essential principles of the method: control, concentration, breath, and alignment. Regular practice helps build a strong core, improve posture, and support healthy, efficient movement in everyday life.
The Perfitly You® Method
All classes at Performance Fit Pilates are taught using the Perfitly You® method.
Developed from decades of professional dance experience, Pilates education, and science-based training, it guides how our instructors teach—so you’re not simply doing exercises, but learning how to move with greater strength, awareness, and confidence.
The benefits of pilates matwork
Pilates Mat training supports the body in a balanced and sustainable way.
Regular practice can help you:
- strengthen the deep muscles that support the spine
- improve posture and body alignment
- increase flexibility and joint mobility
- develop coordination and balance
- build core strength and stability
These qualities create the foundation for healthy movement—both in other Pilates classes and in everyday life.
